Cmount Cameras

Cmount cameras, are the orginal kings of CCTV cameras. They orginate back in the early 70s, when only the elite had access to such integrated circuit technology. Cmount cameras are in their own class, being that they still provide the highest form of resolution technology on the market. With their compact size, they embrace powerful functions like low lux starlight sensor, intellgent digital signal processor, ex-view technology for optimal high resolution without infrared lights, wide-dynamic range function, which helps video in the worst lighting angles possible and many other functions, too many to list here. Cmount cameras are special in that you can change lens types to fit your CCTV application needs. There are also a wide variety of cmount lenses, where you can fit either a fixed lens or varifocal lens for a video shot. Below we feature several cmount cameras that all have very unique styles and purpose. To the left is a complete menu break down of the types of cmount cameras we sell. Cmount Cameras Can Have Fixed Or Varifocal Lenses

You need to make sure before you checkout with an order of four or more cmount cameras, that you have lenses for each of them. You should already know where each cmount camera is going to be mounted before you purchase. That means you will also have the measurements from angle-of-view (width of your shot) to the desired distances. Knowing the height of the camera is also important, that way you really can determine what fixed or varifocal lens you'll need to watch each zone of interest. We have a cctv lens calculator, to help you configure or determine what lens type you will need given your inputs on the environment or area of concern. We sell fixed CCTV lenses starting at 2.0mm, 2.5mm, 3.5mm, 4mm, 6mm, 8mm, 12mm, 16mm and on up to 60mm. Remember each lens will give you a fixed shot, so there is no other way to get a different angle or distance shot unless you attach a higher or lower range CCTV lens. Varifocal lens are popular because some CCTV system needs change as the environment conditions change or nature of video changes! If you have the feeling or notion that your demands for a different shot of video can change on the fly, then you will certainly need a varifocal CCTV lens, where you can adjust your lens range. This still is a manual process, so you will need to get on a ladder to make the right adjustments. If you have additional questions or need help in determining which lens type you need for your zones of security call our 800 line and speak with a CCTV consultant for a free evaluation.

Cmount Cameras Need Housings To Work Outdoors

If you are thinking about using cmount cameras on the outside, then you will need cmount housings to protect the cameras from the outside environment. We have housings that have heaters and blowers that run on 24AC power. Cmount housings are water and air tight to ensure the longevity of your camera. The heater keeps the cmount camera from freezing over in cold, icey, snowy conditions. The blower on our housings work during very hott and humid weather conditions. Although most of our cameras run hot, temps over 150 F will ruin the internal circuit board. Another thing you will need to keep in mind, is how you plan on mounting your cmount camera. Cmount camera housings need a special mounting bracket to hold the additional weight from the housing. You can use cmount cameras with a cb bracket to mount indoors or for drop-down tile-ceilings. Last, you have to be very careful with infrared cmount cameras inside of a housing. Due the reflectiveness of infrared wavelengths, placing the camera too far away from the glass will cause a washout of video. You have to place the lens right up to the window and adjust the focus until you get a clear view. This is the only way you can mount any cmount camera outside, both infrared and color cameras.
